A test build of recent color and transparency rendering improvements/ experiments:
[EDIT] Thanks for the feedback! Latest releases here- https://github.com/qbism/super8/releases
Super8 is a WinQuake (software rendering) client for Windows that can play new large maps, most old vanilla stuff, and most of the features of recent mods. It seems to run well in the latest Linux WINE.
The engine is based on Makaqu and code from several other engines and bugfixes... the miracles are theirs and the flaws are mine... see code and readme here: https://github.com/qbism/super8

map by Ionous - Map Jam 6
For an existing install: Basically most will want to uninstall it. To keep an old config, change the cvar r_palette from 's8pal' to 'palette' or it will look washed-out. Also, the super8 folder is no longer referenced as a default. The old pak88 is optional. It contains alternate palettes which may or may not look OK with the new color model.
