Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

I take it it's not ready yet?

I will find you... it's only a matter of time.

It's very close (1 hour or less). It'll be considered beta until it gets some live testing and Rook and Yellow check it out and think about any ideas for improvement.

        Download: qracklaunch.zip

Requires Qrack to already be installed, place the file in c:\quake (or whatever your Quake folder is) and run it.

Not a final "product", this is beta and I only recommend someone interested in testing or providing feedback try it.

A log of command lines are stored in c:\quake\qrack\launch.log (or equivalent folder).

I can't wait to get home and try it. I'll yell back when I know more.

            Baker,

I tried it out for a bit last night. It was late and I couldn't spend a lot of time with it like I wanted to. Had music practice last night and I was tired.

My ONLY complaint was that it needed higher resolution support. I use wide screen settings up to 1680x1050. Other than that, it was a great front end.

I knew the screen resolution issue would come up considering how frequently the widescreen issue has come up lately, what happens on an LCD monitor when a lower resolution is used?

Does it stretch, not stretch (small) or are the video modes not supported?

I am planning on adding Resolution: Current, where it uses -width/-height already in use on the monitor.

I used the max that it supported. I think it was something to the likes of 1280x1024. Looked ok... I'm just used to the higher res is all.

Hmm ... widescreen users seem to get to see more of what is going on around them. No wonder Yellow always know where I am.

I should be adding in support for Screen: Current Resolution to this soon.

Out of all the computer related products I've ever bought, my 20"widescreen was by far, the best purchase I've ever made.

Next upgrade will be the 30".
