  • [ProQuake Questions] helpful ideas

    Hey guys,

I got Proquake installed and running. Are there any commands that I need to help speed it up? You know FPS and so on and so forth.. Or any cool ideas on uping modem speed?
Plus are there any shadow remover commands in ProQuake?
    thanks

If you are using the ProQuake Launcher you don't need any of that.

If you want to boost the "FPS" in ProQuake you would have to go to Start -> Control Panel -> Display -> Click Settings Tabs -> Click Advanced and select your video card and turn off video refresh synchronization.

Monitors are limited to 60 (LCDs) to 85 (most CRTs) frame refreshes per second so you aren't actually going to get more FPS really, but will gain a small amount of mouse freedom because Quake updates video and mouse input at the same time.

If you do go to the control panel do this, set pq_maxfps to some number like 120 or 180.

For more commands and settings you could go to http:://console.planetquake.gamespy.com or read the ProQuake docs at http://proquake.planetquake.gamespy.com

... but really if you are using the ProQuake Launcher there are no above and beyond special settings that would improve someone's game.
