  • Darkplaces + Locs

Yo guys, got a quick question.

I've recently gotten into using Darkplaces for my client, and I have locs in my ID1/locs folder (which normally for every other client works) but when I try to use my binds for locs it reverts back to %l, h%h, and so on. I needed to ask if there's a way to fix this, or if Darkplaces just doesn't support the loc system?

I'm not sure what needs to be moved and where but here's what I've got just in my Quake folder:

Where everything is at now, Darkplaces works perfectly aside from the Locs. I have a darkplaces folder from a zip file I think I got off of here with a bunch of stuff in it that I'm not sure what it all is, so that's why that's there.

If there's no way to use locs on darkplaces, then I'll just resort to typing in my position manually.

Something else I've noticed - "test" doesn't seem to work (like test quake.shmack.net), and apparently you can't connect to any other ports other than 26000. I just tried to connect to rage 26001 and it sent me to 26000.

      1. DarkPlaces doesn't support locs, only ProQuake and Qrack do. You could email or IRC LordHavoc and ask him if he would add it (he said he would back a few months ago, but you know -- he's a busy guy).

      2. Gunter noticed some months back that the test command doesn't exist in DarkPlaces when he was making hub.quakeone.com

      3. I have not had issues connecting to different ports in DarkPlaces, doing connect quake.shmack.net:26001, for example, has always connected me to the Rocket Arena server.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

        Okay I had tried:

        port 26001
        connect rage.quakeone.com

and it sent me back to 26000. I'll try your way now to see if it works, and if so then i'll just have to get used to that.

Thanks for letting me know about the locs.

Locs aren't supposed (yet. LH mentioned that he might add more features in the new releases)

          connect servername:portnumber
          or
          connect ip:portnumber
          or
          port portnumber
          connect servername
          or
          port portnumber
          connect ip

They all work. How do that not work for you?

For some reason that way doesn't work with DP.

I tried Baker's way (never knew you could put in port numbers like that) and it connected me, so I don't know what's going on with the other method.
