  • GLPRO timedemo demo1

So, I ran some timedemo test of demo1 with my glpro client and it seems that my framerate is capped at 280 FPS. I ran this timedemo for 640x480, 800x600, and 1024*768, and they all reproduced the same results. Running this with the glquake.exe client, I can get 922 FPS in 640x480. Any thoughts on why this is happening? I played around with pq_maxfps, and this has no effect.

make sure vsync is disabled for OpenGL applications.

That has to be the explanation.

You might also consider trying Qrack (vid_sync 0) or DarkPlaces (vid sync off by default), both have the capability to disable sync within the client.

It wasn't a vsync issue (I was getting 900+ fps with the glquake.exe client). It was a setting I had in one of my exec files. I had r_novis set to 1; this killed my timedemo framerate.
