  • Setting up Qview help.

Yes, Gamespy 3D works fine and all for me, just I would like it if I could get this to work as it takes about 15k kbs less than GS3D does ( when I hit ctrl+alt+del ). Anyways.

I go to options>general settings and select Quake as my game on the drop down menu. Then the whole command line bit, what do I put? I use ProQuake (wqpro370.exe, to be exact ) so how would I type that in there to make Quake appear in my server listing as "Quake server group" like it will for GS3D? The readme says to put either q95.bat or winquake, and tried the winquake, and still nothing. Help?

I don't know quite know the answer to your question (QView is a little bit of a pain), but I have a solution.

To do it your way, try substituting "wqpro370.exe" where "winquake" or "winquake.exe" is mentioned in the readme as what you should type.

But really an easier way ...

    1. Install the ProQuake Launcher (http://www.quakeone.com/proquake)
    2. Go to your Quake folder and rename wqpro370.exe to wqpro.exe (deleting or renaming wqpro.exe if you have one).
    3. In the ProQuake Launcher, turn "Config Boost" to OFF (*)
    4. In the ProQuake Launcher, click "Server Browser" to start Qview and it will be pre-configured.

(*) wqpro370.exe does not need the Config Boost option that is in the ProQuake Launcher because wqpro370.exe has the Advanced Settings menu that does a better job.

Nessonic - I can help you set up Qview; I've been using that program for quite some time. Do you have any chat programs like MSN, Yahoo, or xfire (preferred)? If not, when I get home today I will post exactly what to put into that field so your programs will execute when you join a server.

        My xfire name is: heroshot

Thanks guys, I used the ProQuake solution from Baker and got QView to list the Quake 1 servers now, closed it and reopened it to check if it continues showing it. Now just to read the readme and find an option like a favorite setting or something like GS3D uses...
