I made a very close to perfect pk3 for DarkPlaces that will cause DarkPlaces to use some awesome settings by default for lightning fast performance in deathmatch.
It also has built-in aliases like +quickgrenade and +superzoom (which is mostly for single player).
Just download the .pk3 to c:\quake\id1 and start DarkPlaces. Type "fastmode" in the console and you are done.
If you ever mess up your DarkPlaces and want your 400 frames per second back, just type "fastmode" in the console and sets everything back to really great settings for DM and kills all kicks and bobs and anything else that would mess with your aim and also maxxes all speeds.
Download: DarkPlaces Deathmatch Fastmode Setup (put this pk3 in c:\quake\id1 or equivalent folder).
It is 95% perfect. The +superzoom is a little slow for online play and someday I will improve it, but it is awesome for single player. I made this 2 months ago and someone today needed help with DP so I figured rather than wait for "super-perfect" I'd make it available now.
It also gives you an awesome orange lightning gun beam. If you don't like it, turn it off in Particle setup.
