wow, so i don't know what is going on, but I can't get glpro to recognize maps in any other folder but id1. when i do -game ctf, and try to load a map in ctf/maps, it doesn't work. i ran the same setup with qrack and glpro, and had no problems, but glpro is not working for me for some reason.

What command line did you use and what did you type in the console to try to load the map? People have played CTF with glpro for years and I just tested this and it works for me.Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. my command line is simply:
glpro -game ctf
and it finds the folder just fine, it loads the conback.lmp and i can play the demos unique to the folder, but it just can't load the maps for some reason.
i use the command "map ctf1"
I know it is very frustrating because i'm pretty sure this worked in the past for me.

I'd check the folder name and everything. Something isn't right there. Also make sure that if it is a pak file that it actually has maps in it and make sure the maps folder is there and make sure the name of the pak file is pak0.pak and that all pak files are in sequence.
Say, why use -game with ctf? Yellow made an "all-in-one-pak file" that can go into c:\quake\id1 that is also compatible with cheat-free because it doesn't include the player model and it doesn't need a gamedir.Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. so, it's just the ctf maps that it can't find for some reason. I put other maps into the folder and it can find em just fine. Example: I made a new folder in quake, call it temp. I put two maps into temp/maps, one map is dimen1.bsp, the other is ctf2m1.bsp.
glpro -game temp
map dimen1 -- works just fine
map ctf2m1 -- couldn't spawn map
edit:
baker: i have it set up like you said already, with pretty much everything in the id1 folder. I was just messing around with some of the ctf maps (looking at vis vs. non-vis'd maps) when i ran into this problem.
it is so very strange, and so very frustrating.
it looks like only ctf maps aren't working, every other map seems to work just fine, as far as i can tellLast edited by PapaSmurf; 07-02-2007, 01:40 AM.

Maybe this helps ,
I put all my maps for ctf ,rquake, dm customs, in the folder quake/id1/maps.
I only use diffrend configs fxp :
glpro.exe -game ctf ( in the map ctf i only put the ctf config and progs, mdls if needed but no maps )My servers for the gamers:

Polarite: the issue is not that I can't figure a way around this problem, the issue is why is the problem occuring. I like that idea, though, I just don't know why it won't load ctf maps from a maps directory not in the id1 folder.
Edit: I was wrong about it being only ctf maps. I thought I had maps in my temp/maps folder that i didn't have in my id1/maps folder (besides ctf maps), but i was mistaken. I tried loading regular maps as well, and this does not work either. I suppose I could try getting a new glproe.exeLast edited by PapaSmurf; 07-02-2007, 08:48 AM.
