  • I can't connect to servers! help ;-;

    Hello people
    I'm having a problem with Qrack and ProQuake: i can't connect to any servers! Oddly, that doesn't happen to Darkplaces, but i personally dislike this client.
    What can be happening? any ideas? :/

    Is your firewall permitting DarkPlaces but not Qrack or ProQuake?

    That's about the only thing I can think of that would cause Qrack or ProQuake to not work. ProQuake is so old and so time-tested and it always works.

    What server were you trying to connect to? (Just wondering -- it could make a difference or provide a clue to what is going on).

    Are you just typing "connect quake.myserver.net" in the console to connect or how are you trying to connect that it isn't working for you?
    Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

    So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

        I think it's bad karma. Go out and do good things for a few days and try again.

          If you use winblows disable any NICS (network interface cards) your not using, by going into: "My Network Places" located on your desktop, or if your XP it's in: Start Menu / Settings / Control Panel / My Network Places.

          Right click, the Connection N's you find there (N = 1-... infinity) Click Status, and the one that isn't sending packets, disable.

          Then try proquake again, should work problem free.

          Otherwise you do have that -ip option

          But, i always found it easier to just disable my unused NIC's provided you have multiple lan cards, like say (one on board) and one PCI lan card.

          I'd normally disable the on board one, less i was plugged into the on board one.

          Shrugs.
