Extra mouse buttons don't work

I bought a Logitech MX518. I have all buttons working in X11, for example the thumb buttons (6/7) work in Firefox.

However, I can't bind them in Joequake. I hear Joequake has 8 button mouse support, but when I do

bind mouse6 "impulse blah"

nothing happens!

I can only bind the L and R buttons and the mousewheel, plus mwheelup and mwheeldown. I use the Linux X11 client. Does the mouse4 etc. support only work in Windows?!

Can someone (Canadian Sniper? Baker? Spirit?) try binding extra mouse buttons in Linux Joequake?

What other clients have extended mouse button support?

This sucks, I bought this crazy mouse and can only use half of it...

Nevermind. It does (did) work only in Windows. Grrrr.

It was easy enough to correct though, it now supports all 10 mouse buttons.

I should remove the mwheel crap, too - I'll just use mouse4 and mouse5 instead. Much more intuitive.
