  • Qrack v1.83 problem connecting to servers

I just installed qrack v1.83 and now when I try to connect to any server, I get the phone plug icon in the upper left hand corner and my internet connection goes down entirely. When I switch over to windows, I notice that my instant messenger and various other programs that rely on the internet have gone down as well, meaning that somehow qrack is taking down my entire connection. Has anyone had this problem?

At first I was getting this error in the console spammed multiple times when connecting:

    cl_WriteToServer: can't send

but after changing "developer" from 1 to 0, it got rid of the message, but I still have the connection issues. Any ideas? Thanks!

Are you using a firewall? Try unblocking port 26000?

grab this version http://www.quakeone.com/qrack/glqrack.exe <-- latest build

There isn't anything that qrack is doing to connect, different than any normal tcp/ip program would do.

Maybe lower your maxfps if your using vid_vsync 0. and make sure host_frametime is 0.

I lowered my maxfps and changed vid_vsync to 1 and that seems to have fixed it. :d It still says "cl_WriteToServer: can't send" a couple of times (not as many times as before) when I connect but at least it doesn't shutdown my internet connection like before. I guess I can change developer to 0 if i want to hide that message when I connect. Thanks!

YA developer 1 is a debuging tool that spits out stuff for well, developers
I'd suggest setting to 0 or else you'll get more stuff poured into the console output...
