    I recently downloaded Qrack and have a few issues that I'm unable to resolve along with some other questions. For some reason the quake skin colors are the same for everyone , so I can not differentiate between players on my team, or on another team. I have downloaded the 24-bit paks off "http://www.quakeone.com/ctfre/" and used the cl_teamskin 1 command. Secondly I'm having the same issue as a previous poster had, which is the text is very grainy and unreadable in the console, I've tried a clean installation of qrack without messing with the config and it still has this problem. I used the suggestions that rook replied with "gl_smoothfonts 1, gl_loadits 0, and r_dynamic 0." The only one command that is recognized is "r_dynamic 0" and it did not help.

    Lastly I have been messing around with all of the commands to try and figure out a config that I am comfortable with, unfortunately I'm not very patient and got sick of messing around with everything, so I came to this forum to see if there were any configs posted. In a thread I found a config posted by papasmurf, the description of the config seemed to fit what I was looking for, so I just deleted my autoexec.cfg and replaced it with his completely. To my surprise my ping was lowered by 10 on every server. It's always been the same whether I'm using glproquake, or qrack, until I used his suggestions for my autoexec.cfg. I was wondering if someone could offer an explanation as to why my ping was lowered so dramatically.

    change gl_consolefont "charset-5" to
    gl_consolefont "charset-3"

    or

    gl_consolefont "charset-1"

    This should help with your grainy text issue.

    Also I believe cl_teamskin "2" is the proper setting, though i could be wrong, I also seem to remember having to restart Quake to get the changes to take effect.

      thats for your cl_teamskin woes

      rename the "X" to a number +1 of the highest numbered .PAK file in your /QRACK folder, example u have pak0.pak if this is all then rename pakX.pak to pak1.pak

      second make sure u are using 32bit (default) if in all use -bpp 32 on the command line. Personally I use gl_consolefont charset-1, charset-5 is for the original iD look...

            Hey, I am still fairly new at this game and I have been reading alot on the forums to try and learn more about it. The game looks great, but I would really like to change the look of the players.

            I came across this post and have tried everything you have said and it still does not work. All of the players look the same when I do as you have instructed. What am I missing here? I downloaded this file and put it the Qrack directory as pak3.pak. I used the -32 bit line and typed 'cl_teamskin 1' and everyone looks the same. I also tried it with a 2 and same thing.

            Please help!

              Make sure you are using the newest Qrack, as version 1.80 used a different method to use teamskins.
