    QRack 1.55 EZ Installer

    Download: 23 MB

There is a new QRack 1.55 installer that includes all of Yellow's extras which is an assortment of lits, textures assembled from many sources including the Quake Retexturing Project, weapons from Plague's Pak and some custom designed lightning by Mr. No. 5.

Tech note: This is a solid installer and does not use pak files, except for the standard Qrack pak0.pak.

This is a dummy-proofed installer, it won't let you install it wrong and can be easily uninstalled too, if desired.

QRack is a GL only client.

Suggested improvements and feedback welcomed, including default setting ideas.

is there any way to get that shaft in other clients?

JoeQuake has the same effect (last time I checked). The straight shaft line does help but I'm so used to the sketchy lightning attack :d

Yeah, rip textures\particles\zing1.tga out of the pak and put it in the equivalent folder for your other client.

        For example, in Fuh/EZQuake qw\textures\particles\zing1.tga.

          I rule!

(I made the texture for that...and used it for the quakeone.com logo at the top of the page too. When I first tried jq/qrack they had the qmb one which looked like silly string...no so satisfying)

What's this? Yellow makes textures? I thought he just googles for them and makes a collab.

ok so i was a huge quake fan back in the day and i just recently started having the urge to play it again. after checking out all the various source ports i would have to say that this is my favorite one. thanks and keep up the good work!

              here's my feedback:

i noticed the skinned faces with the flame behind texture is half new half old, looks kind of weird as it anmiates between them.

water caustics causes all kinds of weird flickering shadows under water when i enable it, which is a shame because i like the effect. can we also have water warping? in the same vain, when fog is enabled it disappears and reappears depending on the angle you look at, ie when you look down too far it just disappears. again, a shame because i love the effect.

lava smoke goes through floors. i can live with it, but it would be nice if it didn't =)

when the new scrolling sky is enabled you can see parts of the map you are not supposed to if they are on a higher plane than the one you are curently on.

is mp3 music supported? can it be?

and my number one request: muzzle flashes, pleeeeeease!!!

so other than those few things, absolutely amazing. thank you for all the hard work!
