Quake 1 & 2 Hi Res on Xbox1?

I know I'm a bit late on the train, but I just remembered my xbox is collecting dust in the closet. I want to mod it specifically for the purpose of playing Quake 1 Quake 2 and eDuke32 (Hi Res Duke Nukem 3D).
I dont care if it will play regular xbox games in the end.

What I DO want to know, is:

The ports of quake 1 and 2 to the xbox (Quake x and Quake2XLE)
are those for linux? They are PORTS right? So not for linux?
If so, is the controller setup better suited than if I were to just install linux?
If I use the ports could I use any hi res packs?

The xbox had only 64mb right? so how much of the hi res packs could I use?
The older ones can upgrade to 128, if I bothered with that, THEN how much could I use?

Also, if I just installed linux on it (I would probably go with ubuntu for synaptic)
Would the game installation be as straightforward as installing the game onto a computer with linux?


(yes I know...but I AM planning on using an xbox controller, thats the point
and yes, ive allready got an xbox to pc adapter I made, and no I dont want a cookie.)

You're probably going to want to start off at an Xbox modding forum, then once you get it modified to play Quake, come back here

oh, I thought I saw in the forum, that you had put Damn Small Linux on your xbox.

You better off just playing it on your comp.. Easier, games look better and they cost chump change now.
