  • FitzQuake question.

    Original post:

"I been fooling around with FritzQuake out of curiosity since its ad on splash page and I encountered 2 things:

    1. Fighting underwater - water is very hard to see in it. None of water-commands on Fritz's page helped address this. In other words, underwater visibility is very poor!

    2. At rez 1280x1024 gun model and esp. lightening ray is awkwardly big n goofy looking - it deff. needs to be smaller. Any commands for this?"

    End..

Not too sure about the first problem but the second can be fixed using gl_polyblend 0.

Edit: you should leave your post as it could serve as reference for others

      Now I'll never know!

But seriously, deleting questions is bad.

For every question posted, there are generally 10 people who have the same problem who are afraid to ask (or didn't think to ask or sometimes don't know the right words to explain).

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

The underwater looks perfectly normal to me. Maybe make a screenshot?
The weapons always look the same size regardless of resolution. Screenshot again?

It's meant as a Singleplayer engine, for deathmatch there surely are better alternatives. I guess that's where you want easier visibility?

All I can tell ya mister is that water was muddy and gun/fire too big regardless of sp/mp.

You are right tho, I did jump to play mp with it.

At that rez, things just looked small and gun big.

            Also frames were inconsistent..

I be happy to put picture - if only I knew how..

Press F12, then it saves the current screen to quake/id1/

I meant hosting it to QuakeOne. Nevermind, I figured that out.

I cannot put ss because I deleted it out since I will not be using it. Anybody curious can just run FitzQuakeGL - what I ran - go underwater and see that it is very foggy by default.

Any fog related commands will not fix this. I was not only one who pointed this out.

As for gun being too big, I guess thas what it defaults to at that rez..

                Glad to help.
