  • Runes vanish. (dark places)

Hello all, I'm new here figured I'd say hi.

Now my problem is, Dark places doesnt seem to remember that I finished a episode. So the only way I can finish the game is cheat. I did a search here a many other places and have not found anything. Anyone got a clue why this is doing this?

I'm running on vista if it makes a diff.

This is the old save games lose the runes if you aren't on the start map problem -- I think.

Everyone has heard so much more about this problem lately.

So does it happen to be a dark places thing? Or are many of the engines doing it?

It would be a universal problem to my knowledge with all engines affected.

One thing I noticed that also causes it to lose the rune count is entering the nightmare tunnel, or bouncing back to the easy/normal/hard selecting room.

For some reason, even if you don't pass through the slipgate in the nightmare tunnel, just enter the tunnel and then step out to continue to episode 4, the rune count resets.

I had to revert to a previous save to restore my previous 3 runes to progress through episode 4 from the nightmare tunnel visit.

Is this why the impulse 11 command was created?
