    I really enjoy using QRack, but I am running into some issues at the same time.

    1. Is there a way to remove the tan color background in the scoreboard? I'd prefer transparent or no background at all.

    A: Fixed! scr_scoreboard_fillalpha 0 sets the background to transparent.

    2. I use mouse2 to move forward. For some reason or another, I like to bring down the console to read texts. When the console is down, I can no longer move. Is this a bug? This was not an issue for Proquake.

    A: Fixed! I turned on Fullscreen, and now I can use mouse2 to move forward while console is down.

    3. I have bound killstats and quadstats to some keys, but when I hit them, the game freezes (with the telephone symbol) for one second or two. Is this a bug, or do I need to turn something off?

    4. How come cl_truelightning and r_wateralpha resets themselves to default values even when I have these defined in my autoexec?

    A (partial): I have scripts to record demo when connecting to a server, so Rook's response about cl_truelightning makes sense. As for r_wateralpha, the value is set for 0.2, but the water is still solid. However, when I actually change this value in the built-in menu, it changes the surface water to transparent.

    5. I like the new graphics, with the exception of the rocket. Is there a way to just use the default rocket graphic along with the new weapon graphics?

    A (partial): Lightning_Hunter suggested changing the particle trail. I was referring to the actual rocket. Right now, its sort of orange, rather than the original rocket model. I have it set to the particle trail that matches to the original quake, but the rocket model itself is still orange.

      I believe the cvar you are looking for is scr_scoreboard_fillalpha. Set this to a value under 1, and it will be transparent.

      Works for me. Where is the autoexec that you are modifying? It needs to be in the game folder that you are using.

      As far as I know, the only way to do it is to set gl_part_trails "0". There are also different particle effects for the Rocket trail. Try messing with r_rockettrail (you can set this to 1, 2, or 3. "0" is no trail at all). My personal favorite is 3, but you might like the others better.

          Ya, scr_scoreboard_fillalpha, i can easily add scr_scoreboard_fillcolor for your preference.

          also, recording demos forces cl_truelightning off (fixed this not to alter the cvar). r_wateralpah gets disable in CAx.

                  I downloaded the ultra high resolution texture package for Darkplace to use with QRack. It works great! My quake looks great, but my gameplay has degraded. Nonetheless, its like a new game for me. If you are bored with Quake, I would suggest you give this method a try.

                    while console is open, it is normal to "not be able to move". The console is open, its more likely your pulling a lerster and chatting rather than using the mouse to pew pew pew.heheaehe

                        Yes, this is still a problem. Are you implying that this only happens with the beta build? I'm referring to when I check killstats or efficiency.

                          It seems anything printed to the console, read from the server, while my console screen is down. Though, it doesnt seem to lag when reading chat messages. But if I type any stat command, or even COMMANDS, theres a skip in the sound and a delay for a 1/2 sec then everything prints and game continues. Not sure what's causing this atm....
