  • replacing weapons for darkplaces (skins from Nquake package)

    Hi guys, i've been trying to replace everything in the darkplaces client so far i replaced the monster skins with nice 24-bit skins, i replaced all textures and also from health boxes etc

    but i can't seem to figure out how to replace the weapons in the game, i want to use the same weapons u get when installing Nquake, these look really nice in game, i tried renaming and all putting .mdl in front of the _0, doesnt seem to work, maybe i got the wrong directory i'm atm just not sure i also tried finding an easy Pk3 file to download but all i find is broken links.

    can anyone help me? The directory i installed the new monster skins in is id1/progs/ and it seemed to worked after renaming them all to .mdl_o.tga

    i tried v_weapons and g_weapons and w_weapons, im not sure which one to use anyway help appreciated, and love ur site btw

    Nvm i fixed it silly me hehe i copied v_axe_0.png to id1/progs converted it to tga and renamed it to v_axe.mdl_0.tga so now it works
    anyway maybe this info will help others

    oh and no need to convert it btw png works too

      I've said it many times before, but this naming convention is correct; otherwise how can the engine tell the difference between s_light.mdl and s_light.spr (both in ID1 pak0.pak, by the way)? Sort it out, folks.
