  • EzQuake help

Hi! I'm new here obviously but I started playing Quake a few months ago and I'm almost done with the game on nightmare. I found the game up in the attic with all my dads old computer games when he used to play.

I wanted to start playing online so I downloaded EzQuake (someone told me its really good) so I did and it loads the game and everything. But it doesn't get any servers from the list at all.

I'm on a Apple Macintosh and here is the inside details.

    Processor - Intel Core i5 - 3.06 GHz

    Memory - DDR3 ram - 4GB 1333MHz

    Storage - 1TB 7200 rpm

    Video - ATi Radeon HD 5670 - 512MB GDDR3 SDRAM

    Operating System - Mac OS X v10.6.4

I don't know if that will help but I do play with wifi and Quakeworld works fine just not EzQuake.

Thanks anyone who can help ^^

You would probably get higher quality answers at the Quakeworld.nu forum where the ezQuake developers hang out.

This is predominantly a NetQuake oriented forum. There isn't a complete absence of Quakeworld players here, but not a high enough concentration to get any answers I'd trust.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

Burn it. Back in the day it was common practice for sorcerers to leave dusty old copies of the Necronomicon in their attic for their daughters to find and unwittingly open the gates of hell with, these day's I'm afraid dusty old copies of Quake are more in vogue.

I'm still looking for an original copy of Quake.

As for the original question, EZQuake doesn't come with master servers in the master list by default.

In them multi-player menu, go to sources and hit the insert key

These are the sources I have in mine:

          QuakeServers - 194.48.213.72:27000
          Ocarnia - 188.40.112.251:27000
          Team Exhale - 212.87.33.43:27000

Alternatively you can go into the EZQuake's sub-directory of your Quake directory then into the sb folder and either edit or create a new file called sources.txt and put the following in it:

          Code:
          master "QuakeServers" 194.48.213.72:27000
          master "Ocarnia" 188.40.112.251:27000
          master "Team Exhale" 212.87.33.43:27000
I still need to find out what master server/s FTEQW uses because it shows a lot more servers then these.
