  • Qrack questions

Since Qrack has the mouse fix for Win7, its what I'm using to play...

Are there hi-res textures for Qrack? If I use the default high gfx settings, all the textures look not so good.

Secondly, is there a lighting option for qrack that makes all the rooms look just as bright as Proquake, not just the ones that actually have light in them?

    Thanks!

It's true that I'm late on writing a documentation for Qrack setup.
The simplest is to look through the commands and cvars both accessible with
    cmdlist and cvarlist.

Yes Qrack can do all the high color textures out there;(not bump mapping though).

If you want the original look yet brought into this century try >> 10th Anniversary Quake Expo this is it's a faithful texture set for idbase textures, ie e1m1, and dm3, etc.

There is a gl_overbright command that bumps up the light level a bit.
You can also use gl_gamma or gl_contrast. I think gl_gamma 0.5 looks like ProQuake.

The other place to find minor tidbits of info is on the Qrack page or the whatsnew.txt file in the zip.

Thanks again Rook. Those textures work just fine.

My gl_contrast was at 1, but the default of 2 seems to work nicer.
