  • Extra weapons showing up in Darkplaces?

    Hey!

I've been lurking the forums recently and thanks to the help of many here made a pretty solid combo of Darkplaces + texture packs, and other upgrades. Unfortunately there's one issue I don't know how to solve - certain maps (such as E1M1) have a big cache of weapons in them. Now naturally these weren't there in the original episodes, but I figure some deathmatch variable is turned on to have these around. I just need a tip on what can turn off this veritably huge stockpile of guns that appears in many maps before I replay Q1.

    Thanks!!

DarkPlaces loads external .ent files with names like e1m1.ent that have a ton of guns for CTF. Somewhere you have these .ent and you need to remove them.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

Thanks, worked just great. Don't know where I got those ENT files, but getting rid of them fixed it.

Another quick question - where are those enhanced weapon models I see in so many users' screenshots? I've found just about every other engine enhancement except a place to grab the enhanced weapon models.

      Thanks!

just drop that pak2.pak into /id1
or extract the /progs folder of that pak into /id1/progs

Thanks. I had already tried just dropping the pak file in there, but to no effect. Tried the other suggestion and I Googled PAK Explorer and extracted all the files to id1, now it works perfectly. Too bad these models have no muzzle flashes.

Thanks for all the help guys!
