New to this generation of Quake 1 and have downloaded several clients and have found one that runs great in Linux and have no complaints but I can't seem to find a way to enable a statusbar. I'm using as the title says Quakespasm. Any help would be appreciated.

OK...I found a way to have the statusbar show but now the problem is it shows at the bottom and pushes the screen up the width of the bar, so in effect I have lost screen real estate for the game equal to width of the bar. My normal resolution is 1440x900 but I'm not getting the full 900 due to the statusbar.Link to picLast edited by jtarin; 01-20-2011, 08:45 AM.

Well I thought that was the fix turns out...no.
I'm linking to a screen of the problem. Look to the right and left of the statusbar. I have fullscreen and my full resolution of 1440 x 900 set and also viewsize "100.000000". This appears in Fitzquake and it's derivatives.
Providing a new link to screen.

This is common in all Quake clients. Imagine the sbar the desktop and the game is the window.
...in Qrack, its cl_sbar 1 or 0, 0 sets the sbar as an overlay to the screen, 1 sets the screen above the sbar, the sbar becoms part of the underlayer.
You'll have to drop down to viewsize 80 to get the full screen view again with Quakespasm.
I'm sure they can add an overlay sbar in quakespasm if you request it.
