    Hi Ninj,

I had some similar rendering problems with an earlier version of DQ changing some surfaces in the level to large areas of matt black. Example...

MH being a very helpful chap did his best to assist and to be fair we found that this was partly down to me having a very modest and rapidly ageing rig, but you might try ensuring that you have the latest version of DirectX as that solved a couple of my preceding DQ issues. Looking at the documentation it seems that DQ is very reliant on having the latest versions.

    Hope this helps

For now set r_draworder to 1; this was a screwup of my own and I'm going to put a patched vesion out soon.

Yes, when I fresh install Windows 7 will fail to run DirectQ, because of missing DX9 files.

That's normal enough with recent-ish DX9 games on Windows Vista or 7, or even with XP if you haven't upgraded your DirectX in a while.

This isn't a DirectX issue though, it's more the fact that I accidentally gave a bad default for r_draworder and these servers force a value of 0 as a means of preventing wallhacks. So set it to 1 and this problem will go away. That's the temp fix; the permanent fix will be coming soon.
