Tenebra. Anyone know how to enable the flash light?
i find the flashlight mostly pointless, because the origonal quake was made without the flashlight, so if you did add a flashlight you would have to add alot of dark areas to make the flashlight practical. don't get me wrong, a flashlight in near total darkness in a game can add some hair raising moments, like when you walk by a shadow and a fiend jumps out of it.
Flashlights, back in the early days were nothing more than a dynamic light rendered client-side. HL1 has it, and its blocky and doesnt work on bmodels.
Im pretty sure u can achieve it through QuakeC with a traceline and making a dynamic light where it hits...

Now if only we had some blood sucking vampires that didn't like UV light, then we'd have a real use for it
lol that would be a job for SEVEn, to make an effect that when shining a uv flashlight on zombies, they satart burning/smoking and frantically attacking! Oh now we could make a mini mod for fun like robot-tron but with creepy zombies etc, and they freeze/pain in light and u can shoot.
