Sketch Quake can do this:

Type "r_load sketch" in the console.
And while that very cool, some of us who have been around a few years have seen that before --- but you know, it's still very cool. And if you haven't seen this feature first hand, you owe it to yourself to try it.
But what really is cool and, as far as I know, a first is that the players display their current weapon. It's obviously been done in other games, but I've not seen this before ever in the original Quake, myself.

QuakeGuy with Shotgun

With Grenade Launcher

With the SNG

I noticed this engine in the Quakesrc forums, where Spirit did his usual good deeds and I headed off to Quaddicted only to notice Spirit had already done a news item at Quaddicted, heheh.
