  • DarkPlaces Latest AutoBuild: default.glsl missing/not working

I have been experiencing errors on the unofficial "Quake Epsilon" build, on the DarkPlaces engine's latest autobuild (8/16/2012). Whenever I load a level or fire a weapon, I get this error:

"GLSL shader glsl/default.glsl lightsource diffuse shadowmap2d shadowmapvsdct failed! some features may not work properly."

I tried everything, even transplanting a default.glsl file I found through google into a newly-created "GLSL" folder in the base "id1" folder. And the errors still show up. Here's my computer's specs, if it helps...

    SPECS
Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1045T (6 cores, 2.7GHz each)
    RAM: 8GB
    Graphics Card: NVIDIA/EVGA GeForce GTX 670 SC+ (4GB)
Graphics Card Driver Version: 304.48 (Beta)
    Hard Drive: 1TB (482GB free)
    Primary Display: HP 2511x (1920x1080)
    Secondary Display: LG L227W (1680x1050)

Any assistance provided would be much appreciated.

try using this build instead: darkplaces-20110702.zip

the autobuilds are often unstable and have bugs in them. this build does not

EDIT: although now i think of it, i think i recognise the error...
if changing to that build i linked doesnt fix it:

do you happen to have a geforce graphics card, and are using either the latest 304.48 or 304.79 beta drivers?
if so, thats the problem... those are bugs related to those beta drivers
downgrading back to the 301.42 will fix that problem

    .
are you curious about what all there is out there in terms of HD content for quake?
    > then make sure to check out my 'definitive' HD replacement content thread! <
everything that is out there for quake and both mission-packs, compiled into one massive thread

So I'm getting this same error, with any darkplaces build(tried several), and I've tried all the beta/legacy drivers for my card.

Running Geforce evga gtx 560. I didn't have this issue the other week with my older gtx 260 card....

Right now I'm going to try guru3d's drivers...see how that works...any more ideas?
