Hey everyone, need abit of help with some different issue's ive run into when trying to run DarkPlaces with certain pk3 files.
Just to sketch out what i've downloaded, here's the list of stuff i found while browsing around for hours on the website, reading stuff and just having a blast.
Installed:
Quake from Steam
DarkPlaces (newest build)
QRP Textures & Addon
Dpwater0.31
id1_teleporter
DP-New_Lava-v0.3-Seven
effectinfo & particlefont (from Seven)
Quake-HQ-Music
HUD_id1_v4.71_Nahuel_Dresk_Smith + HUD+Menu-Seven
And here's the problems i've run into:
1) Setup: I havnt been able to find any solid infomation on what your supposed to do with a fresh install of Quake + Darkplaces! i assume there's some settings one would need to tinker with in the options menu & console outside the resolution? i read somewhere about some phallanx mapping (hope i spelled that right) and some RT world thingy.. its quite confusing to someone who has no clue what that means.
2) Texture's missing from QRP: The 25point HealthPack & All the ammo crates seem does not seem to have a updated texture, is this normal? or is it an issue on my side? If its normal, can someone then attempt to explain how one could replace those textures with stuff from Rygel's high pack?
3) A user called "BEEF34T3R" made and uploaded a skybox to filefront, now that skybox looks just amazing but unfortunetly the download link comes up dead, is there anyone who might have that skybox still that would mind reuploading it? link to the thread where he posted it 3 years ago: http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-hel...g-packs-5.html (its on page 5)
4) I've read someone talk about something called DPMod that should have some sprites for tourches (the lightsources from the beginning of quake) what is DPMod? and what does it do? it isnt mentioned many places and googling it didnt yield many informative results.
5) Seven's "Small Mod Complilation" i just cant make that work, i seem to have followed the direction given in the readme but regardless of what i try to do, the mods such as Ogre/Zombie aiming does not work as the ogre behind the bars in e1m3 keeps hitting the stairs. Does this mod complilation still work? if so.. is it just me thats an idiot?
