  • Side scroller QC.

Hey folks, first time posting here! I've been lurking here for awhile and reading all the nice QC related threads. Real nice place.

I am looking for a good base for a side scroller. I'm aiming to create a 3D side scroller in the spirit of the DOS classics like Commander Keen, Duke Nukum, and Bio Menace. However, most of the old links to side scroller mods that had their included sources seem to have vanished from the internet.

    I'm of course, talking about [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eNfwLT48vQ"]2D CAM[/ame][ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3J6fVLnEPxU"]ARCADE QUAKE[/ame][ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tuhilk7MIDY"]THE ASCENSION OF VIGIL.[/ame]

They all seem to have vanished. I was hoping to at least have somewhere to start as far as the QC is concerned. There's a lot to do!

My engine of choice for this project (if that helps at all) is DirectQ. If anybody knows of a place I could find any of these still available for download, or a better alternative, i'd really appreciate it.

those posts contain links to arcadequake and targetquake, which are both side-scrolling quake-mods.
the arcadequake (first link) one includes QC source
    .
are you curious about what all there is out there in terms of HD content for quake?
    > then make sure to check out my 'definitive' HD replacement content thread! <
everything that is out there for quake and both mission-packs, compiled into one massive thread
