  • Compiling proquake server in linux

I am trying to compile the proquake 3.50 server in linux (unixded). The Makefile has a target called unixded, but that target isn't defined in the makefile so it doesn't know how to compile it. Anyone know what the deal is here?

Slot Zero is Mr. "I can compile ProQuake server" on Linux.

Unless someone Linuxy here knows, he's your best bet.

/I'd like to know the answer too for when I get around to this.

Well I finally got it working but its not easy. Strange how the proquake author didn't fix this problem. Baker, maybe you should set up your new proquake code in a place like sourceforge so other people can add changes. I'd be happy to add the changes I've made to make it work better on linux.

Agreed. I think I'm going to get an SVN so this can be collectively worked on.

Did anyone ever post their own updates to you via email or on sourceforge in regards to sharing your linux code? for contributions?

          Just was curious.

I'm assuming since it went from 3.20 to 3.50 and then 3.60 they did.

But, as i'm finally wadding through all the help desk threads, as i'm debating getting back into C coding practices, as i want to try to get proquake working on linux, though i doubt i'll contribute much more then that of testing, the builds... as i only took 1 intro to C course in my life, but i did pass it... however i drifted from it, a few months later, and drank most my knowledge away. heh.

Anyways, just was curious if any further contributions have arisen?

I know Lennox, knows a lot of stuff, but that Golden_Boy seemed to have some great linux knowledge too, same with Spirit, and of course Mithril too.
