  • Quake 1 Server on Debian 5

Greetings all, I am new here but it looks to me like this is the best place on the net for quake1 happenings. That being said I have a quick question.

Is there any quake1 servers that can be compiled in Debian 5? The ones I have seen so far, none of them will compile correctly on this newer Debian install.

The info is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

I am using proquake 3.5 on debian. I just used the precompiled linux binary sqpro. I have not tried with any of the modern quake servers such as proquake 4 or darkplaces.

I'm running a proquake 3.90 server on Debian Etch using the precompiled binaries, works. Have you tried the binaries on Deb5? They are here:

I just compiled proquake on Etch. What kind of error messages/problems are you running into on Deb5?
