  • Quake 1 mod

    Ok...Here goes:
    I wanna make a quake mod(No shit sherlock!)
    Like...It will be a mix of sci fi and now-time.
    I have decided to make it using Qme because i dont wanna learn languages etc...
    What you guys think?

    Also: I need some help with guns/monster ideas

    I do think you will need to learn some quakec (if that's what you mean by language) as otherwise you will be stuck with standard guns and enemies - most you could do is remodel or reskin them but their function will be the same.

    For the mix if it's Sci-Fi you need to focus on the grunt and Enforcer. More of them will be needed.
    Now if this is without coding - you can easily make a Enforcer "Ogre" him holding a Grenade launcher and having a melee weapon on the other hand. Just replace Ogre sounds with modified Enforcer and volia.

    If you are referring to adding some code. Need what I said above, some higher tech enemies. So in armor, space suits etc.
    Weapons - think star wars/trek and for the today's part - it's simple just think of the weapons we have out today and take your pick.

        QME is a just model editor. You can edit models with it and that's all.

          Maybe you should start small and not go for a full blown mod of that scale just yet. You seem new to Quake modding... get use to QuakeC and the various tools you'll be using to make a complete and polished mod.

          I wish you luck on your mod and look forwards to seeing development screenshots!

            Ok...So i will learn quakeC language...
            BUT! If i got some noobs in class that wanna join they must maybe use Qme, because it's easy?

                Dont restrict helpers to QME. If they know a better way....and there are plenty, let them use it lol.

                  FVCK!!!!! i've download the clenquake thing, and also Qcide...But i cant download it right. And i cant open my quake directory.
                  What operating system you've got on your pc?
                  What version you got of quake?(original,steam Etc)
