  • Server map list

    Hello!

I'm trying to set up a lan server to play with my friends and I can not find a way to put a list of maps on the server that will automatically rotate. What is the command to do?

    Thx!!

One way to do it would be to use a server mod such as CRMOD. This should enable you to add extra features including a map rotation and it is fairly easy to implement. It allows you to specify a rotation and include approximately 9 custom maps as I recall. If you are interested in CRMOD you should be able to get all that you need from Megazoid's Quaketerminus site here.

Failing that, you could always try the RuneQuake Mod (without the runes turned on) designed by Slot Zero as that also gives you plenty of server admin options but can be a little more involved to get it just the way you want it.

    Hope this helps

I've been looking at different options, and the CRMOD solve the problem.

I do not know if I have chance to use the CRMOD and add bots. To use bots, frogbots used, but I think there is no possibility of using both mods. If you can use someone explain it to me.

The issue is that we are little people to play on lan, and we used to add a few bots.

      thanks!

        Hmmm Bots!?
That's an additional requirement that I'm uncertain if CRMOD can support. I can't see any mention of bot support in the manual but by all means research it more fully yourself as I'm no Quake expert.

However, I'm sure there must be a mod somewhere out there that will allow you to do both. The NewDM mod, recently updated by a QuakeOne member called Monster.bta, springs to mind as it allowed you to add or remove bots from within the mod as required with the addbot and removebot commands and I believe it had a set map rotation with custom maps. Maybe connect to newdm.quakeone.com and see if it is the sort of thing you are looking for and perhaps if you ask Monster.bta nicely he'll let you have a copy

Failing that you could always look at experimenting with some training bots for you and your buddies to play against.

        Hope this helps you out

Thank you for your answers, I have done much. It seems that the mod NEWDM meets all I seek.
