  • Random Generated Map?

    Hello. I making my own mod, about Chaos Insurgency [SCP:CB] but i have one problem. In SCP: Contaimned Breach you have nice Random Map Generator, it's not perfect, but it's not still that same. is there's any way to make something similar in DarkPlaces ? I already found "OBLIGE" but it's out of game [i want something in game] and it's a bit limited, i dont like this program.
    Somebody can help me? I dont want to make unlimited map but only some Rooms like in SCP. Any ideas? It is possible? How? I have already done a 3d models of room's [like in SCP ^ ^ ] but how to make it all working, and generated randomly?

      it�s totally possible, in fact tomes of mephist�pheles has this feature. But this is not a good forum to queestion about procedural generation of rooms in qc, go to Inside3d Forums • Index page

            Random Map Generator Literally??

            Pardon my ignorance but a Random Map Generator? I've read the expression but until I seen this post, never gave it much thought. Does this mean one could get 'stuck' then "generate" a finished Map or room?

            How about a video or something with examples or a great explanation on what exactly a Random Map Generator is, does..

              as far as i can reall, the program uses predefined resources to generate random levels, but they wont be totally unique.

                Yea sounds like it would pull pre-designed map peices and assemble them in randomness....


                things you could expect would be corridor style mapping because each one would need to link together uniformly no matter which peice is being utilized.

                I could imagine a coop mod where players are dropped in a start area with hordes of baddies to fight through to the end, and each time the map would be slightly different using this idea. RQuake Coop , Randomized Version 1.0
