      I also think we should all team up and make a new mission pack with these monsters included! theres actually a song demo I made a while ago that I was going to use for this other game called Egoboo. it was deeply inspired by the atmospheric sound Trent Reznor used to make the Quake soundtrack. I would find it most fitting with a new Quake map with a very dark environment along with the nail grunts. tell me what you think

        Your song is perfect Quake material!

        The new nailgrunt scream is good, but still too shrill IMHO. *puts gauze in my ear-canals as i type this* maybe if the high end were lower and you added some nice chaotic filtering to it? Like the larynx detatched from the mouth, just bellaring out an agonizing, wet and gurgly cry from hell.

        I have Ableton and FL studio so I'll be playing around with this a bit too. Please don't take my criticisms negatively.

        I'm digging the idea of making some new kind of mission pack! Ive been playing Travail a lot lately and having a blast, it would be rockin' to get some mappers interested (Amon cant code/map worth poop).

        I'll do everything I can

          I like your input, what if the nail grunt scream just was simply not as loud as it is now? do what you can with your filtering. make sure its super eerie

          what if they had multiple sight screams? you can just hear that one scream I made every once in a while. like a dark flickering hallway where you keep walking and BOOM! right behind you. like how some of the id maps on nightmare have it. where a hell night is in a dark corner behind you that you had no idea was there.

                  that sound is too comical in my opinion. i have a couple WAVs sitting around that i think would be more fitting, if edited properly. they are supposedly recordings of bigfoot/yeti from various sources. i uploaded them to my ftp:

                  obviously they are too long. i would think they need to be cut down in length, the scratching/fuzzy noise cleaned up, and possibly add some bass.

                        You know, this thing deserves a better place than just nail grunt- I'd up him to some kind of middle monster (er- giant rocket grunt???)

                        Also, I'd give him a slightly more distinct uniform colour (similar jungle camo colours to the Quake 2 Tanks perhaps?)

                        Just my opinion though

                              I love the sound and the look of a double-mouth grunt! I would love to see a couple of these scream at me then run at me with extreme speed -- would be damn creepy!
