Custom HUD with CSQC

  • Actually in before Christmas time is getting a bit busy.
    I'll update MPs probably after xmas ( unless I look at it earlier and it turns out there is nothing more to do but copypaste from id1 version ).

    @Seanstar: Screen shows more compact ibar layout I made for QRP hud gfx. HUD textures are part of QRP Item textures v.0.73

        this hud mod is great, thanks Nahuel...i love the waterfog.

        and the map titles in red, looks so cool.



        just made a zip of my modified nahuel hud for rogue and gfx textures set.


        this set is mostly moon textures with the faces by andehx and a couple webangel...and bmodel and armors by me.

          Maybe that's an offtopic, but does anybody have such weapon icons as in posts 102 and 108 (QRP ones I guess) but for mission packs? I like original style of HUD and icons the most, but still I'd like to see remade icons there.

                • A great start! We also need this for the powerups, e.g. the wetsuit in SoA etc. Also, the ammo icons are needed. Those are still missing and really stick out when using MoonDrunk's HUD.

                      If they are missing, you should use webangel�s !
                      She made them all: MP1, MP2

                      Be creative and make your own HUD set compilation !

                      • *edit: newer version down the line*] - MPs HUD versions ( Nahuel's layout ): some v3 & v4 updates features copied/added into MPs.

                        Known issue ( only with MPs versions ): When in 'hide ibar mode' ammo icon on sbar does not change when switching weapons.
                        I couldn't get rid of it, either ignore it, or don't use "f" switch with MPs HUD versions. ( or fix it and post it, or send me a pm )

                        Customization options:
                        key "h" switch item bar layout
                        key "f" show/hide item bar
                        key "c" show/hide compass
                        key "tab" hold to show scorebar

                        sbar texture - if you want fully transparent sbar replace ibar/sbar textures with included transparent textures ( from QRP: qrp.quakeone.com )

                        To change default settings aplied after level load:
                        open in Source\ fteqccgui.exe -> client.src -> client\vars.qc , change variables ( values 0/1 ), save, compile,
                        put generated csprogs.dat in quake\id1\ or replace one in .pk3

                        There are two id1\ versions: v4.3n - Nahuel's layout, v4.31 - Smith's layout for QRP HUD gfx

                        • Thanks to my vacations, I took some time to finish my highres HUD for "Dissolution of Eternity", based on MoonDrunk's graphics and featuring the new weapon icons lately provided by seanstar.

                          DoE highres HUD MoonDrunk style (4.5 MB)

                          Note that you will need the rest of MoonDrunk's common ID1 HUD to make this look finished. This pack has all the DoE graphics, even the powerup icons - no lowres stuff showing up any more.

                          In order to demonstrate the looks, here's a screenshot with the lava supernailgun, the multirocket launcher and the plasmabolt (and activated powershield):

                            Now the custom HUD�s are uniform for Quake, MP1 and MP2.

                            Special Thanks to Nahuel of course. Without him, we would have nothing !

                            I saw you asked for some screenshots with underwater fog from kleshik and nobody answered you yet.
                            Read from here onwards to understand that the underwater fog does not work with DarkPlaces regular fog:

                            • NightFright, thank you! Excellent pack, just when it is needed! The only issue is that shaft and plasma icons seem to be wrong size.

                              [offtopic]is there a way to make lava nails stick in the wall with the same particle effect as Hell Knight's spikes does?[/offtopic]
