sbar powerup icons

I made some new images. They are 128x128. These are the little icons that appear on the sbar when you get powerups



I made the pent symbol correctly as id used it as a "horror" effect.

To install these just copy them to /textures/wad/ folder if you dont already have 24bit replacement images for these you can eve drop them in /id1/textures/wad/ if you dont wanna mess with pak files.

I may be wrong but that what you showed is a "good" pentagram the "evil" one should look like this:

id did use it right.
The pentagram was originally believed to protect against demons and such. It was in the past 100yrs-ish it was strongly believed to be a satanic symbol and then stopped being used.

The pentagram/pentacle is a power or protection circle, used in many religions. Orientation does not matter, that is a myth. There is a pent with an open side (I forgot what it is called) and that one is more closely related to satanism/demonism.

Silly misuse or misunderstandings of religious symbols is pretty common... just like the nazi's defiled the swastika (which means love in many religions).

Yes many people have it all wrong pentacles (are one point up) are for protection , pentagrams (are two points up) are the ones more for the Satan worshipers etc. .

What you posted is the "Open Side" , which is the |\ here /| section.

I set the point /\ up which is widely used for protection (ie in the game u take no damage), where as the two horned side is used in Satanic practice. Either way, Pentagram - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
I suggest, that id software had "doom" on its brain, when Quake came out, using the satanic style to overlap popularity.

I extracted the files to quake/qrack/textures/wad and tried out practice mode on ctf.quakeone.com and grabbed the quad, but I saw nothing, so then I threw them in the quake/id1/textures/wad and tried again (of course closing qrack and reopening), and still nothing.

WHAT'S GOING ON HERREEEE!?

look in your .pak files for occurrences of the same file names. I think the retexturing project just left those images as blank.
