  • The Nightmare Realm.

    This is another map I'm working on just for Deathmatch, the map's lighting would be dark but not too dark and would look like this.

    Looks like I'm getting myself back to mapping with this awesome tool.
    I am like a stray dog, lost in between what I do and what I should do.
    But sometimes, all you need is Imagination.

    Just out of interest, what tool are you using? Is it Trenchbroom by any chance?

          It's looking quite promising
          Let me know when you feel it's ready for play testing and I'll put it on the New York and/or Damage servers for you with Stalker and Xeno's masterpieces

            Nice I like the lighting. Maybe try and add some less boxy geometry to complement the areas? Looking good man. I love mapping and seeing what others create. How's that crackhouse map coming?

                I like it. Some of it seems too dark though. You should try to achieve the feel of dark by contrast, instead of just making everything dark.

                  Added curves to some cubes, but i also want to add a lightning trap that would kill the player on quad.

                    I read similar posts like yours at inside3d quite often.
                    SleepwalkR really made a great level editor with Trenchbroom, which seems to inspire a lot of people for mapping and many people enjoy how intuitive it is and report about its nice and easy operation.
                    It seems that he has struck the right cord with it (if that is the correct english meaning).
                    I have read that now he even adds support for other games in it.

                    You could maybe edit the sprite color slightly to make it more red-dish/dark to better match the lava. Nice idea.

                      Well i just checked RT world and you were correct, guess i need to throw in a few light entities.

                        I'm just parroting things I've read by people who are established in the industry. I may have even received the info from the same source as you. I have no way to know for sure cause I read it a long time ago.

                              Actually I just tried messing with the settings and found out it had to do with shadowing.
