  • [map] Lucid...

    "Lucid..." is a single-player single-map mod I'm developing to test and showcase the Makaqu-derivated engine I'm working on.

    The artistic style should be a "polished retro" style. It will feature software rendering with many small touch-ups such as translucent water, alpha masked textures, translucent BSP models, kernel-dithered filtering, round particles, lit 2D sprites, lit ammo boxes, and many more. I'll definitely try to feature every single effect that the engine will be able to do, but in a polished way to make them look and behave as sensibly as possible.

      Since this is the first real map I've started working on, I started noticing some things in the engine that needs to be fixed. In fact, I may end up rolling my own map format to address them.

        Good luck!
        Does any of the other Quake engines support alpha masked textures?
        It is such nice touch compared to the normal squared edges of the geometry.
