That's not what a furry is, dumbass. Point me to anywhere in the Wikipedia article where it references Looney Toons characters.

Oh, right. I forgot about the classic anthropomorphic fox characters prolific in their productions.

Keep in mind that Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, and is therefore subject to edits by furries who want to make themselves look less like sick fucks.

Oh good the sexuality Police have arrived. I'm feeling safer already, what with all the debate about furry Shamblers going on lately I was starting to think there was something a bit queer going on.

        Skutarth,

I am disappointed that you are talking like this. There is absolutely nothing wrong with furries and the fandom. It's a niche interest, just like anything else... It's art, emotion, symbolism, personality... and if nothing else... a recognized and appreciated aesthetic by many.

If there where anthro skins to be had in Quake, I'd be happy to try them out.

Then why did you use Wikipedia as a source for your argument in the first place?

As for this part of your argument, I already did, here.

I like how you ask me to point out the place in the Wikipedia article you linked to that strengthens my arugment, yet almost in the same breath you bash Wikipedia for being inaccurate due to user editing.

It's been here for a while, and this forum is already super aggressively moderated (people get banned on a whim often), although it got awfully quiet here for a while after they deported all the gays to California. Luckily, there are now furlords to target instead of gaylords. Phew, and here was I thinking we had accidentally grown up or something. That was quite a shock.

I saw absolutely no Looney Toons referenced anywhere in that post.

I used Wikipedia because I figured you'd actually read more than the opening paragraph.
Furry fandom - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Differing approaches to sexuality have been a source of controversy and conflict in furry fandom. Examples of sexual aspects within furry fandom include erotic art and furry-themed cybersex. The term "yiff" is most commonly used to indicate sexual activity or sexual material within the fandomthis applies to sexual activity and interaction within the subculture whether online (in the form of cybersex) or offline.

According to a study, 19-25% of the fandom members report homosexuality, 37-48% bisexuality, 30-51% heterosexual, and 3-8% other forms of alternative sexual relationships. In 2002 about 2% stated an interest in zoophilia, and less than 1% an interest in plushophilia. Initial figures were collected by David J. Rust in 1997, but further research has been conducted to update these findings. About half of furry fans are estimated to be in a relationship, with 76% of those having a relationship with another furry. A 2008 survey updated the figures, showing a large difference, with just under a fifth of the participants describing themselves as being zoophile, and 9% being plushophile. A follow-up survey in 2009 claimed that less than 14% of participants describing themselves as being zoophile, and less than 8% being plushophile.

Furry characters are sometimes associated with paraphilias, with online communities dedicated to art and stories featuring macrophilia, vorarephilia, infantilism (babyfurs) and maiesiophilia, among others. Some fans argue that various paraphilias normally considered illegal in certain jurisdictions, such as pedophilia or extreme pornography, are legal when no humans are depicted. This is, however, the subject of debate. Softpaw Magazine, an erotic "cub" fan magazine, has been banned by furry conventions Eurofurence and Further Confusion due to fear of legal action.
Note that there isn't a statistic for how many have roleplay sex with each other in fully body animal suits. I wonder why!

I have no idea why you're trying so hard to defend a bot, particularly one with the facade of furry scum.

Rather funny that you guys are getting all worked up about a thread that might have been started by a spambot.

So super-aggressively moderated that maybe 8 people total have ever been truly moderated in 4.5 years.

                  OMG, the oppression!

/Yeah, I blew it when banning Seanstar for no apparent reason (for all of 12 hours) that even I can recall. And if that is the worst mistake in a 4.5 year old forum, I'll write that up a statistical standard deviation error.

So you've proved, using a wikipedia article (a meathod you yourself disapprove of), that sex appeal IS in fact part of the fandom. GJ, you did nothing to my argument.

Not ALL, implying that there is a part of the fandom dealing with sex appeal.

Has anyone verified his identity as being a bot? As for now, it's a mere assumption. I find it hard to believe that someone would create a bot to troll a Quake forum with a post about a mod in progress. I am just fed up with people bashing others who actually try to come here and contribute something of value to the community (this thread, and the Doom 3 guy). There's that, and the fact that your line of thinking is flawed, and I am merely trying to correct you.

I'm not understanding why you're getting so bent out of shape over the OP anyway. So some fictitious scients in some lab somewhere combined fox and human DNA... that doesn't mean they did so with the express intent of having sex with it. I'm sure any project like this would have more to do with creating a being with heightened senses, quicker reactions, bodily advantages (claws, better teeth) etc, yet as soon as you see it you think "A MOD ABOUT SEX WITH FOX PEOPLE KILL IT WITH FIRE!!". What does that say about you, when the first thing you think about is furry sex?

It is impossible to prove it is a human spambot, but it has all the signs of such.

You can actually earn a couple of pennies to spam a forum in South American countries, where a couple of pennies a few times a day adds up to some real spare change especially for a South American country.

                      1. The author hasn't replied to the thread.
                      2. There are no Quake specific indications in the first post.
                      3. The thread has no media.

I can't fathom why someone could get paid to start a trollfest on some online forum, although I accept the possibility.

As for point 1, it's possible he just hasn't come back yet. Point 2, I would expect anyone posting something in the WIP section of a Quake forum to be making something Quake related, unless stated otherwise. Point 3, he did say that he's basically done nothing other than come up with an idea. Again, accepting the possibility it could be a troll/spam bot/person, just laying out other possibilities.

I still find it amusing that, someone joined the site this month. Mentioned about doing a project that involved an anthro-fox quake guy model, and, now.

We have people flaming, the furry fandom, as well as accusing that newbie to the forums, of not being human.

Judging by his name, assuming its a he. "Fennec" being a fox species, i'd assume, he's a fox.

So yeah i can see how the furry topic can start, however, it still technically shouldn't of started to begin with.

All we had here, was someone join the forums "possibly," a furry... that possibly, has modeling skills (autocad), etc, and announced they where going to work on a new quake mod, that involved an anthro-fox quake character.

How did this, get into "bash" the furry fandom to begin with?

I think it's silly to jump strictly to your hates, thats like me posting a thousands words of hate when someone posts any, mod with announcement of a female quake character.

I just find it, odd. That this originally started as a quake mod post and within a few minutes became a hate spam, post by other members of the site.

                          Very odd indeed.

That's all i got to say.
