    hello


    ive wanted particle flames since i think tomazquake...i had the idea for darkplaces when i found this post by Chip where he posted effect info settings for fire.


    its wasnt easy to creat the effects but after lots of testing the flames now look almost real...with Sevens ideas helping me along the way


    these flames are using particles from the hd particlefont i uploaded from nexuiz

    I like them! Much more realistic than the one on Seven's Small Mod Compilation..

              the fps drop is very minimal.


              and they look great now that i made my own color setting


              i only need one effect for the flame


              you can disable the sparks and smoke...so the fps drop is almost nothing.


              dont forget the game is also not rendering the sprites or flame models in place.

                Sean, your flames are great! I just can't wait till you upload this =)
                And by the way - starry sky looks cool too, I'd like to use it in start map.

                          Picture is low quality, so I type this message:

                          I use DP 29-06-2011 build.

                          BTW, is there a way to save game messages in a log file?

                          Sean, your new FX are in conflict with DP rain option. Everything works right when disabling rain options in the *.ent files.

                            That's because Sean's progs.dat doesn't support rain and snow..

                              oh my, this is what i've been waiting for. proper flames. but then i was told that it's incompatible with seven's small mod complilation. never mind the other effects, but i really have to use that for the nail position fix.

                              hope you guys can work something out. at least for the flames and nail position to work.
