  • ProQuake 4.51 for Linux port

    Hello,

    this is a 'works-for-me' port of ProQuake 4.51 for Linux
    including the binary glquake_glx.

    What does not work/compile:
    quake_x11
    unixded
    menu_video causes a crash
    cl_autodemo (it's there but does not work for now)

    New stuff:
    /record will generate a demo name for you (YYYY_MM_DD_HH_mm_ss_mapname).
    alsa support
    Fixed /namemaker (make last row accessable).

    This is only a rough port. It works for me and tbh that's all I'm after for the moment

    If it does not work for you out of the box and you have no experience with
    compiling/fixing stuff, this is not for you.

    Steps taken to get there:
    I unzipped proquake.451 sources, cp'd over the Makefile and .deps from
    ProQuake 3.60 for Linux and fixed stuff as it broke

    I started this maybe a year ago and, since I could not get fullscreen to work,
    forgot all about it till 1 week ago so I don't really remember what exactly
    I changed/fixed/altered to get it to work.
    Since fullscreen works now, here it is

    ProQuake.451.zip
    proquake.451.zip

    Uploaded to quaketastic.com, README added like suggested by Spririt, thx!

        Very good, more Linux ports are always good.

          Does not build for me, I guess ALSA stuff. I use OSSv4. Archlinux.

          $ ./configure checking for a BSD-compatible install... /bin/install -c checkin - Pastebin.com

            several things went wrong.
            First of all ./configure, I never used that unzip and try
            $ make glquake_glx

            if you have the asla libs/includes installed, it should build at least

            Like I mentioned above, I took the Makefile and .deps directory from the old proquake 3.60 port. I wanted to stay away from configure/autohell stuff if possible

              Ha, I like that.

              No luck, probably Alsa. Was just playing around and not too interested in using it anyways so I will leave it at that.

              Thanks for the new package!
