                i think it is...got it off google and the author said it would make a good texture he thought...i agree.


                here is a pic of the first version...upload is later today.



                new version thats darker

                the stars twinkle as the sky moves and looks very nice.



                the teleport actually also has a nice effect in low light the stars glow in the dark.



                try the teleport glow in r1m1.

                    hmm looks not bad, i like the stars. i always loved that starry look in the quake teleporters

                    which is why i myself am also using an old version of versions teleporter effect which looks less water-like and has stars.
                    the newer ones look to much like water and i miss the stars in those


                    although its kinda to mirror-like to my liking... perhaps try adding something like 25 or 50% transparency to it and less reflection?
                    i think that would make it look a lot nicer

                      in the shader you can change the water ripples by editing the first number in the string after dp_reflect...last number is alpha, in the water shader in scripts folder.

                      [dp_reflect .7 1 1 1 .5] or try [dp_reflect .5 1 1 1 .9]


                      i kinda like the water look better, it reminds me of Super Mario 64

                        thanx, ill try that sean.

                        im not to fond of the overly mirror-like look the teleporter has now, i like it more if its half
                        transparent.

                        i love the wavy surface of what you have, but not the fact that its opaque and to mirror-like.

                        what i meant about the water is what seven uses for texture in his newer teleporters, he used some brown water-ish texture.
                        i like that your portal is more retro-ish with stars like quakes teleporters originally had.

                        anyways, ill try what you said later and see if i do like your teleporter more then what i have now that way

                            heh maybe i could do a custom alpha layer stars texture, thats a little darker and will be more transparent.

                            dont get me wrong, diverse taste is a good thing
