    Here is version 2 - click.
    What was changed:
    -runes are less glossy now and don't look so weird under a bright light;
    -glossy textures of the windows on the walls are much smoother;
    -on the other hand, copper textures are not so smooth anymore, now greenish stains are much less glossy, which gives additional relief to the picture.

    Once again I need your attention at the possible errors, and after that I'll start doing MP1 glossy textures.

      Hehe, yes we know you come from russia

      Then please make a short powerpoint presentation how to download from russian hosters
      clicking on everything that seems to be a "download" is dangerous sometimes

      Even though I didnt see your work yet, Thank you for sharing it.

      Beeing not a big fan of gloss textures (that makes Quake look like plastic),
      I am curious what YOUR gloss textures make different.
      One thing is for sure: Quake should not be plastic. It should be dirty.
      So I am looking forward to seeing your work.

        However presentation is an overkill for the task, IMHO simple picture is enough:

        Yeah, I hate that plastic gloss in some games and I've tried to avoid it. Actually plastic wires on some tech textures glitter like plastic as they should do but no others.

          Hehe, my grandmother told me to avoid red.
          Red means: Not good.
          That is why I would have clicked on green

          I think the russian hoster knows this and therefore switched the colors for us

            i tried FCs glossy textures before and i love them.
            imo they dont make quake look like its made from plastic at all.
            you should totally try them seven, they make the world of quake look a lot more awesome.
            FC managed to do some amazing work with faint gloss on lot of textures which add just that little gloss that makes metal look like metal and such

            i do however understand what you mean seven, in lots of games theres to much gloss on stuff and its not done correctly and its makes stuff look like its from plastic or polished chrome or such. however FCs gloss dont do that

            downloading the newest version now, ill let you know what i think of the update FC


            btw about the downloading, i myself use downloading sites a lot, and ive also often come across downloading sites in languages i didnt udnerstand in the slightest. trick i used to know which link to click was put my mouse cursor on either link and look at bottom-bar to check where both links led too. and i saw that green one led to some .exe file which i know wasnt it and figured mustve been some virus installer or something
            and red link went to the file with same name as what you were making so i figured out that was the right link

              The glossy textures in version 2 are much better and do provide enhanced visuals IMO.

                agreed, although i wish FC wouldve lessened the gloss of 'metal5_6'
                but i fixed that myself by editing it and making the gloss 50% what it was

                but i agree, they look better now

                  OK I will. Right now I don't actually like the way I've done it before, need some more edit to make glossy texture fit metal strip better.

                  I'm starting to create gloss maps for MP1 now, if you'll see some more inaccuracies in existing textures - tell me, please, I'll edit 'em.

                    I've almost finished with MP1 textures, but I've also redone many of id1' ones - click.
                    Now copper textures are of two types - rusty ones with spot of reddish gloss and clean&smooth ones, whose gloss is brighter and less colored.
                    Runic textures and metal5_6 are fixed along with textures of iron strips on the wood - now they have spots of rust, which does not gloss at all.
                    About 95% of work is done and I'm very pleased with the result even though it has nothing to do with what I've expected to do when I've started (cause I had wrong expectations). And these textures doesn't make metal look like a plastic, they do make it look like a real metal

                    Before I release a final version - let me know about issues you've found.
