I just want to know the purpose of rep power, I know what it is but I just need to know what it's for.

I changed the complete subject of this thread because I just suddenly thought it was stupid. If it was then I'm sorry.

However I could not change the title of this thread.

It's my understanding that Rep power can be used if you want to commend someone for the way in which they handled a particular post or for a positive contribution they may have made . So for example if someone was particularly helpful towards a fellow quake player with a problem then you may wish to reward him with some rep power. Similarly if you felt that someone was unnecessarily rude or offensive then rep power could be deducted accordingly.

In some forums it is termed Exalt or Smite and in short it gives you the opportunity to add to or subtract from a member's reputation on that forum.
