    Gaza faces imminent water crisis - Middle East - Al Jazeera English

    ^

    That totally sucks. It doesn't matter what side you're on... I cannot imagine life without tap water. One day is bad enough, but seven days? Water is one thing, but I feel totally sorry for the ones who have lost their lives in this conflict. Some people are going to say, "Well, what did you expect? It's an armed conflict. There's gotta be some casualties." But all lives are important! Even if one life is lost (it is still a very high number!) Both of these governments are mature... Hopefully they will work something out! I care!

    both of them are mature? They are not fighting palestine they are fighting hamas. I support Israel 100% muslim's want to destruct the entire world who does not believe or live islam. I talked to a muslim a few months ago and he told me if the call comes out to kill all American's he would answer that call to kill all Americans. I told him good luck and that allah is a child molester. He got pissed and started calling me an infidel and i thanked him very much for the kind words and walked off.. I don't support islam or the quran as far as i am concerned that's bomb fire material.

      Thank you for mentioning the word "muslim". It's interesting that you brought this up... To a minor degree, I will slide off-topic (but this is still related to the Middle Eastern issue.) This is a small digression... I do not know why some people take religion too seriously. Why is religion even an issue? Seriously, we could talk about other things, such as abortion, gun control, taxation on the wealthy, prostitution, marijuana-related issues, and many other complex topics. Religion is NOT a complex topic. The rule is very simple: "Go ahead and worship your own God. Go ahead and participate in your own religion. But if I respect your religion, this means that you must respect my religion. If you have a right to carry out the rituals of your religion, then I may also have a right to carry out the rituals of my religion... In short, I respect your beliefs. But you must also respect my beliefs." That's it. End of story. Governments should not spend so much time on religion. Instead, they should spend a lot of time on economic issues. (Example: How will we compete with China? China is turning into an economic power-house!) Don't get me wrong, religion is important (to a degree). But I am more of a scientific person than a religious person. I believe that everything has a scientific explanation.

        I don't have a problem with anyone's religion until they start using it as an excuse to slaughter other people, like radical Islamist do. That being said, one of my bosses is a Muslim and he is about the nicest person I know. That's why I use the term radical Islamist.

        Hamas in the Gaza strip has it coming. They launched several large missiles over the border bombing civilian targets. Israel's response was to strike back at Hamas targets and not civilians. Tell me who is more mature.

            It will never happen. Also i used muslim pretty loose in my above comment. I also have a friend who is muslim and his favorite discussion is white women's vagina's, DONT ASK ME WHY, but every time he calls me it's about a white chick he just hooked up with. He doesn't pray 5 time's a day like he is supposed to but he follows all other rules of his religion.

              It's not 'they', it's Hamas. If Hamas and other terrorist organizations would stop making it their life mission to kill innocent people, there would be no conflict. Israel is retaliating in self defense, that's all they've ever done. In no way, shape, or form is Israel at fault or the bad guy here.

              And this isn't simply a radical Islam vs. Israel thing. There are bad people all across the world killing other people. Drug cartels. Faction wars. Arms dealers. Common criminals. Serial killers. Large national threats like Nazi Germany back in the day or modern North Korea. The fact is, someone, somewhere, personally wants you and your kind dead just for being different. That is why world peace is impossible. There have always been, and always will be, some crazy asshole that has it out for other people for whatever reason they can find to justify it.

              That's simply reality. All that good people can do is hold their own, keep their chest pumped out and fight back.

                I think humanity could get their act together if we faced a greater threat (E.L.E. or Alien Invasion,other catastrophes that threaten the human race) , so I couldn't discount us so easily.

                Science will be the dawn of humanity getting its act together... I have faith in science to do lots of shit for us IN my life time.

                  @Mindz

                  Science and a high level of intelligence are what set us apart from other animals on earth. At the end of the day though, I believe humans are primarily driven by a predator instinct to kill or be killed in the pursuit of resources. Look at wolf packs, ant colonies, etc. They are at constant war over resources (food, territory, water). Humans do the same thing (food, energy, etc.) But we have the means of mass destruction.

                  I won't say that humanity is doomed. But I am confident that there will always be individuals and nations setting aside intelligence in favor of pure instinct.

                  Edit: to further your point about unity: yes I agree. An alien invasion or a more probable catastrophe would unify people for the reason I elaborated: instinct to survive. It's not uncommon. Looks at pre world war 2 China. They were in the middle of a civil war before the Japanese invaded. Overnight, they re-allied to fight a common enemy. But as soon as the war was over, their civil war continued, and they've been communist ever since.

                      Israel is trying to destroy Gaza's tunnels. (A few days ago, I did not know that Hamas had a network of tunnels, but apparently, they do.) If Hamas uses the tunnels, they could cross the border and unleash a surprise attack on the Jewish people. I wish Israel some good luck in its operation... Seriously, the Gaza/Israel conflict is starting to look like the Vietnam War... Everybody remembers the tunnels used by the Vietcong... To what extent are the Americans going to help Israel? Are they giving some weapons to Israel?

                        @clown

                        Unfortunately, we don't seem to be doing much at all to help, but we sure are johnny-on-the-spot to arm Syrian rebels that will likely be a whole new taliban-like situation.

                        You have to understand america is severely divided right now. Our leadership only represents about half of our population at any given time. So even though an alarming amount of people would likely support aiding Israel, our current administration has decided they can more or less go to hell.

                          Of course religion is a complex topic.

                          You say "why can't religion be left out of it?" - because the topics you posed regard fundamental beliefs that are usually rooted in some religion. That is also why we can't accept another religion. Since fundamental beliefs are generally stemmed from religious ones, if you don't believe my religion, you must believe against it - making us fundamentally different.

                            Arm Israel? Obama? Yeah right, This muslim shit for brains pResident we have won't do shit to help Israel. Won't stop the invasion of our borders, has a shit load of scandal's on his hands. Our congress are a bunch of pus$y mother fucker's wont impeach this treasonous bastard. He has committed numerous violation's that should be beyond impeachable offenses and prison time. It will take the (three percenters) III to rid of this tyranny. I am proud to be part of them. If you have no history on the III% you should look it up. It took 3 percent of our population to rid tyranny against the british to conquer what we know now as United States of America. It happened once and it will happen again. Benjamin Netanyahu know's obama won't help him. However Russia has stood up in support of Israel. I disagree with Vldamir Putin alot but i think he is a much better person and president then obama has and will ever be. Keep this in mind.

                            Benghazi, bowe bergdhal (traitor traded for 5 extremist), brian terry (fast and furious), irs scandal, unconstitutional executive orders, unconstitutional recess appointments, invasion of our southern border, obamacare (going bankrupt), homeland security has employees and high level workers with muslim brotherhood ties

                            This president has not done 1 thing good. NAME ONE thing he did to help this country or one thing he has done GOOD PERIOD!

                            GOD BLESS ISRAEL I STAND WITH YOU!

                              I think that the main reason why extreme religious groups exist is to stop the growth of communism. Extreme religion and communism cancel each other out... Sometimes a bad guy will bring down another bad guy. Sometimes bad people hate each other (it's survival of the fittest).
