AMD : Public Mantle SDK Coming This Year - Nvidia And Intel Can Use It For Free

Anyone read anything about this OpenGL Next Generation ? I'm really excited about that, more so than Mantle,considering I've already played with Mantle and got 1st hands on comparisons from DX11.1 to Mantle.

As we’ve seen with Mantle and Direct3D, outside of shading languages you cannot transition from a high level abstraction based API to a low level direct control based API within the old API; these APIs must be built anew to support this new programming paradigm, and at 22 years old OpenGL is certainly no exception. The end result being that this is going to be the most significant OpenGL development effort since the creation of OpenGL all those years ago.

I have high hopes for this! This combined with Steam OS should put PC's back in the map for the preferred gaming platform.

According to sources, Bestbuy, Staples, etc, PC's are out selling console's 4-1 world wide. Reversing a trend of console's 3-1 over PC's.

I am almost positive the banning bull crap that has been going on with PS/Xbox over modified game's is the reason people are switching to PC. I for one love to modify my games. Quake however i play almost in it's original state because it's the way I learned to play it and love it.

The other few game's i play are all modified.
