  • 3 hours of Quake Live

    Just got done playing 3 hour's of QLive. I had to endure 3 hour's of getting accused of being a aimbot. I was wanting to take screenshots of my 23 straight wins in a row on a FFA (Free For All) server (forgot how to SS). First time I have played Qlive in 2-3months maybe and for some reason my aim was dead on and the frag limit was 50 and I played 23 games and won all 23 games. One guy called 'The Heal' or something like that started accusing me of hacking Qlive and even chase/eyecam'D me for 4 straight games before joining back up. We had between 5-12 players at a time. I used the SSG/LG combo on small maps and SSG/RAILGUN on large maps. Never touched quad unless someone had it and I killed them. ;]

        pretty much sums up the community of every shooter nowadays with an online mode.

        another reason why i dont care about MP gameplay in shooters....
        the rotten communities of nearly every shooter nowadays

        if you arent good, you get told that 'you're a stupid noob and should fuck off' or something similar.
        and if you're actually good, you get accused of hacking and such

        .

        especially if its a free-to-play game people seem to bitch a lot

          that happens in nearly any competition, be it a video game or the local BBall court...... having the capacity to brush off such nonsense speaks volumes of the player. If everyone took your approach, we'd unfortunately lack players with good charisma. They do exist, but if all you concern yourself with is assholes in the game, then that's all you will ever see. assholes.

          I've made a many of friends playing quake1 over the years,and I can testify I have known more assholes in this game than I have known people I could consider a friend. Those who I built friendships with would never have happened if I said "wahhh my feelings are hurt I'm going to find solace in momma's titty for comfort" .....

          Concern yourself with the opinions of those whom you enjoy playing the game with! If they don't meet that criteria, then waste nothing on them besides ammo.

          To concern yourself with the assholes of video games isn't the objective of video games in any capacity.

            Be careful, even if you aren't hacking there's a high chance you'll get banned if enough people accuse you of it.

              @talisa

              You are dead on about the noob and being good comments. This happens quite often in games. I play TeamFortress2 and I am not good or even great at the game because I don't understand how to play certain mods so I run around and just shoot the opposing team. It seems like if you don't know what your doing or you just aren't good enough you get pissed on and if you are great you get called every name in the book. I just ignore it.

              @Grim Warlock

              You are right about that, I know someone who got banned last year after to many complaints of him possibly cheating. He was a PRO member also and he got banned up until the new update. All it took was 3 complaints in 1 day to get him banned for over 2 month's. They do not have a system in place to prove someone is cheating. However I just got done playing Qlive again this morning for an hour and I played some clan arena and I did decent but got my ass stomped quite a bit as most of the time I had 2 players on me.

                SuperShot gun in QLive is the best gun IMHO!

                Love it to death.

                  @Talisa, this is also one of the reasons why I don't play online. I don't need to play with a lot of foul mouthed kids staying up past bedtime. That and the lack of good matchmaking in most games; I usually just get stomped because I'm only a casual FPS player.

                  So I find games with good single player a lot more immersive: Stalker, Bioshock, Far Cry 2.

                  Plus, most shooters are pretty simplistic when it comes to core gameplay, so there isn't a lot of variation or strategy involved. Shooters don't catch my interest as much as more complex games do. Even though I sank an ungodly amount of hours into shooters.

                      This is true. The Lightning Gun itself is harder to aim in Q1 so when playing Qlive which is a fixed line it is much easier to aim.

                      The SuperShot Gun blast is also wider in Qlive then it is in Q1.

                        I always considered the LG in QL a wiggly worm when moving side to side aim.

                          wiggly worm? That thing is as straight as can be. Now the old Quake 3 LG was worse then quake especially if you had a high ping.

                              Now i suddenly feel like getting Quake Live on steam to see how bad it is.
                              I am like a stray dog, lost in between what I do and what I should do.
