  • Soldier X

I picked up this book from a used paperback store close to my house, and just finished it a few days ago. It was probably one of the best stories I've ever read!

Anyway, it's about a German soldier (who happens to have Russian relatives so he's half-russian) who gets trapped behind enemy lines and people think he's Russian. So you see how he has to figure out how not to give himself away and what to do when confronted by German soldiers, ect.

The big thing I wanted to point out is the name of a minor character near the end of the book, what I underlined in red....

I love all the detail used, even all the graphic descriptions of the surroundings and things. The story was well put together and well researched, and I even learned a bit of German and Russian from reading it:

"Ach! MEIN GOTT!!" - Ah, My God!
        "Danke" - Thank you
        "Ja" and "Da" - Yes
        "Nein" and "Nyet" - No
