How does one not know how to use, a sword? It's basically a long ass knife is all it is, with the intentional design of that of choping other humans in half.

But knifes technically are built for murder too, as they are made to cut through rough beef/meat etc.

Anyways, i only cut air with all these things. Only time i'll ever use them on someone is if there is another civil war. Then i'll have fun.

heh. In a real swordfight, if you don't know how to swordfight. You'll get destroyed easily. Not saying that I know how, although I have had some lessons. If you have a sword and don't know the art of swordsmanship, it seems pointless to me. and if I had a sword I would probably go out and practice cutting some tree limbs apart.

not exactly how things work. if your intentions are rageful hacking and slashing, you'll get cut to shreds by anyone with any knowledge of the sword. asian and european swordsmanship basics are pretty similar: slash, thrust, parry, and block. no matter how fast you can swing your sword, if you dont learn the defensive capabilities of the sword, you're still only 50% combat effective.

Well nowadays you can't really find a sparring partner around. SO why not practice destroying trees ?

An lots of samuari train with wooden swords, which they practiced different strikes and defenses, in air, without a partner. Then later they practiced with these things with each other, to see who'd win. An what they need to improve.

For me, making the edge of my blades dull by wacking a tree that doesn't move.... is pointless. That and there is no trees, where i am. This is like houses and society in Calgary.
