Poll: Quick Grenade Bind - Do you have one?


In my experience, most of the players that don't have a quick grenade bind either don't know it can be done, don't know how to edit (or are afraid to ask!) a config.

Some players don't play serious enough to care and a handful of players actually either press 6 to switch to GL or have a key bound for it -- by choice -- which strikes me as odd because you never switch to GL except to throw a grenade.

I recently put one in my cfg file after finding the alias on this site. I still sometimes find myself switching to grenade manually, though. Old habits I guess.

You dont ever switch to RL except to launch a rocket. I usually dont just fire one rocket however - same with grenade. I bounce one short, one at an angle or long, and go back to rockets. The only thing I have aliased is shaft, because its very nature is streaming.

If I want to use a single grenade, to me, its not that much faster than doing it "old fashioned", the same way I use the rl.

Not bashing, just I personally find it to be a tad over the top of alias using =)

Don't use one because it seems stupid. I only use GL to spam and sometiems throw grenades around in an RA match. I can just do it manually with as much speed.

I have pretty fast fingers for this, being a K-Styler in Gunz... and I'm set in my ways in doing it this way, I've been doing it the same way for 5 years...

I'm curious baker, where do you have your quick grenade bound? I thought about doing it once, but It just didn't feel right binding it to the keyboard. My mouse1 and mouse2 are pretty much set. I guess if i had a thumb button on my mouse i could do it.

My own setup works like this:

SHIFT: Quick grenade
ALT: Switch to LG or bestweapon (bestweapon 8 5 3 4 2 1)
CTRL: Switch to RL

I still use the old metal IBM 101 keyboard. They're indestructable. Of course my wife hates the clicking noise, but what do I care.

This made some sense, so I aliased it last night and had a crack against some bots. Worked pretty well, I'll definitely be keeping it.

So currently: wasd, with Alt for LG, C for GL. Both neatly under the thumb.

hmm, depends on what you use the grenade launcher for. you don't want to be taking your fingers off, +forward, +strafe, +back or +jump to fire a binded key though.
